LIMA

Lima city, capital of Peru is located in middle coast of the country, in front of Pacific ocean.133 meters over sea level. Its climate is fresh during all year. In summer (from December to March) average temperature is 25º C and in the winter the minimum is between 11º C and 15º C..

Nowadays, Lima is the center of commercial and financial activities; it offers to visitors a great variety of tourist attractive keeping still the atmosphere of colonial Spain, in architecture, bull fighting, cock fighting, churches, main square, balconies, museums and convents everything combined with its attractive beaches, restaurants, hotels, and handicraft galleries has given to Lima the singular name of “City of Contrasts”.


LIMA 2 Days – 1 Night

Day 01: Lima: City Tour

Reception at Lima’s airport and transfer to selected hotel.

PM: We start visiting the Huaca Pucllana, an archaeological precinct build in the IV century A.C. We continue to Colonial Lima. Our tour includes San Martin Square, Main Square, Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Cathedral and the Municipal Palace.The Convent of Saint Francis, which displays the biggest collection of religious art in America. Finally we will visit the Contemporary Lima, knowing the most traditional residential areas, the Olive Grove of San Isidro, Miraflores and Larco Mar, distinctive tourist centre of contemporary Lima.

Day 02: Lima – Departure

Breakfast.  Transfer to the airport for departure flight.


LIMA 3 Days – 2 Nights

Day 01: Lima: City Tour

Breakfast. We will visit the Gold Museum to appreciate a famous collection of gold and jewelry dating from pre-inca cultures such  as famous collections of weapons from old Peru and many countries all over the world. Return to the hotel.

Day 03: Lima – Departure

Breakfast.Transfer to the airport for departure flight.

COLONIAL  AND  MODERN  LIMA

We visit the Huaca Pucllana, an archaeological precinct build in the IV century A.C., which was considered by the Incas a holy village.

We continue to Colonial Lima. The Peruvian Viceroyalty was the most important one in the Spanish Empire and Lima was its capital. Our tour includes the Promenade of the Republic, San Martin Square, Main Square, Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Cathedral and the Municipal Palace.The Convent of Saint Francis, which displays the biggest collection of religious art in America. In this place you will feel the presence of Lima’s colonial past.

Finally we will visit the Contemporary Lima, The Olive Grove of San Isidro, Miraflores and Larco Mar, distinctive tourist centre of contemporary Lima.

 

GOLD MUSEUM

Ancient Peruvians were master metalworkers. The “cire perdue” or lost wax process, known across the Orient and lost in the West until the Renaissance was the most frequent technique used by master ancient Peruvian gold and silversmiths.

On this tour of Peru’s Gold Museum, visitors will appreciate a dazzling collection of gold artifacts from various pre-Colombian civilizations, some more than 3,000 years old.

Metal pieces and jewelry of incalculable value in gold, silver and precious stones used by the Incas the children of the Sun God and monarchs of the vast Inca Empire are shown in this collection. Museum also houses a valuable collection of old and modern weapons that ranks among the best in the world.

PACHACAMAC

Visit the splendid and vast archaeological citadel of Pachacamac, the temple of the deity, Pachacamac. Highlights include the Temple of Pachacamac, the Sun God shrine, and the Palace of the Chosen Women or Virgins of the Sun.At the site museum there is an idol of the deity, the temple was considered to be part of the planet’s mystical axis. The tour includes the visit to Barranco and Villa Marshlands a neighborhood both traditional and bohemian, and its well-known Bridge of Sighs, then we will tour the beaches and the Friar’s Leap ledge over the ocean, the Ecological Reserve at the Villa Marshlands, with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean.

LARCO MUSEUM AND NATIONAL MUSEUM OF ARCHAEOLOGY

A unique colonial residence dating back to the XVII century, built on top of a VIII century pyramid, includes the exquisite Collection of Peruvian Gold and Silver from the olden days, and the Pre-Hispanic Erotic Art Salon. Its pieces have toured major world museums. Larco is among only a few museums around the world opening their vaults to the public, with over 45,000 pieces.

The National Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology, and History, this museum was an old residence of Peru’s viceroys and then of its Liberators. This is Peru’s grandest museum and houses the Estela Raymondi and the Tello Obelisk monuments, two important carved stone pieces dating back to the Formative period 1000 years B.C. It features the largest textile collection, with fabrics from the Pre-Ceramic period through the Inca Empire, and a major collection of Ancient Peruvian metals.

THE PERUVIAN PASO HORSE TOUR SHOW
